 Last weekend, Wildman visited the island of Oahu and took part in the Cruise Night held by Ron’s Performance Center. MOONEYES Hawaii Dealer, Pacific Rod & Custom helped out with the event, so Chico and Bob from the mainland flew over to help out as well. Wildman had . . . Brings back some old Hawaii memories cruising from Magic Island to Sandy Beach all summer . . . I had no idea there were so many Hot Rodders in Hawaii. I went with map in hand to see the Drag Strip in Big Island, Hilo but it was closed, so I asked the shop near by with ’55 Chevy and they told me it was held in night, Very understandable and realized it was my fault to go on 2pm. Plus tonight Race was mainly for import like Hondas, a son of the shop was going to the Race with this Honda which runs in about 10 seconds, that’s fast. They showed me inside shop and there was a Datsun 620 with V8, VW Buggy, ’68 Nova, Nova! in Big island too, ’68 Camaro and this Pick Up. The shop owners own ’55 Chevy had this old MOON tachometer. |
